Artist from Catania, after graduating from art high school, she dedicated herself to numerous specialization courses: in artistic ceramics of first and second level, ceramic decorative, mosaic, metal embossing, painting and ceramization of lava stone techniques.

Miriam Innoceta's art is based on a great versatility and the use of different supports and techniques, manipulating materials always curating their design and aesthetic performance, but above all expressing her inner vision of the existing. In her artistic work, Miriam does not portray the visible, what we daily acknowledge with our five senses, but conveys her dreamlike vision of creation and nature, permeated in every part by invisible forces, which regulate and make part of the All, though it appears to us externally formed by myriads of different elements. Miriam's work moves away from the exterior and tangible, although it uses the material itself, the stone, the metals and the minerals, expression of a tangle of fruitful and vital forces transposed in the use of, for example, stone surfaces as a basis in which fragments of different materials, sometimes crushed, sometimes forged in deliberate forms, are cast into one piece, then refined with oxides and enamels, to form an overall harmonious figure in which the forces of nature are symbolically expressed and where the contrast between heaven and earth, reason and instinct, is replenished through spirituality. So, stand out the bright and glazed colors, the animal and natural figures, the sinuous shapes that in the artistic synthesis seem to express the old alchemic formula of “Everything is one, and one is in everything", where contrasts and conflicts are always re-composed and overcome by a vivifying and rebirth impulse.

Noticeable is also the reference to the cultures of the ancient peoples whose lives were governed by the rhythms of nature and their religions based on the mystical forces of creation, opposed to the so-called civilized world, who decided to move away from Mother Earth to follow the false myths of externality, consumerism and selfishness, often destined for self-destruction. Only by returning to our inner dimension and letting us be dragged by unstoppable natural forces, we can overcome daily anguish and conflicts, and life can turn back to be an harmonious composition of heartbeats, sounds and colors. It is no coincidence that in Miriam Innoceta's work we find references to the work of Russian painter Vassily Kandisky, who in 1911 so defined Art: "Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the gavel, the soul is a piano with many ropes. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one button or another, to cause vibrations in the soul".

For Miriam Innoceta Art, therefore, is not a representation of the visible, but "invention" in the Latin sense of "invenio", that is to "find and discover" those hidden truths in the mind of things and creation, and that the artist , thanks to her sensitivity in perceiving and imagining, is able to convey to humanity.

From 2000, Miriam Innoceta has participated in many exhibitions, festivals, group and extemporary shows throughout Sicily, and in various editions of the "Omnia Arte Festival", annually organized at the Norman Castle of Aci Castello by the Cultural Center "OmniArtEventi", of which she’s vice-president since 2012. During the 2015 edition, she was awarded the "Aquila of Federico II" career prize.
