Born in Viagrande in the province of Catania, Emanuele Coco alias "Manolo" is a self-taught talent, well known all across Sicily in the impromptu painting exhibitions and contests, where he has almost always won. This ability is not causal, as "Manolo" emerges in what can be defined as a pre-impressionist painting, borrowed from the experience of the so-called "macchiaioli" painters, in which is very important the research on the yield of color and light on canvas through the painting of live subjects and en plain air.

In the art of "Manolo", the reproduction of reality takes place through the contrast of "spots" of pure and luminous colors, with strong contrasts, which not only recall a didactic and objective reality, but a succession of sensations and emotions constituted by the emotional return caused by the observation of our surroundings. The favorite subjects of Manolo are therefore the Sicilian marinas, with the colorful boats moored on the shore or the waves crashing on the cliffs, the arid or dotted countryside with olive trees, abandoned ruins among the fields or solitary prickly pears among the rocks, which they stand out against the background of our panoramas, the snow-covered Etna, the foreshortened city views of humanity and colors.

He is currently a master of painting techniques at the "La Cariatide" Art Academy in Catania
